MCSF Alumni – 2018 – Ramey Hensley

Where is she now?

2024 – May

Ramey just finished her second year at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. She has been busy as she is now the President of her class, President of the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists chapter at UK, and the College of Pharmacy Senator in UK SGA.

Over winter break, she took a study abroad course in London and compared the UK healthcare system to the US system.

This summer, she will partake in a 10-week internship with OptumRx Specialty Pharmacy. She will also spend a week in Little Rock attending a Pharmacy Ownership and Leadership Academy.

2023 – May

Ramey has finished her first year at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. During her first year, she joined many student organizations and was elected president of her class. This summer, she has rotations at both hospital and community pharmacies. She will also be a camp counselor at a summer camp for kids with diabetes. She is excited about each new experience this summer!

She would like to remind the recent high school graduates to not take life too seriously. Growing up is weird, but you might as well have fun doing it!

2022 – May

Ramey just graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a BS in Chemistry. This summer, she will be wrapping up work in the research lab and enjoying some time off before she moves to Lexington. In Lexington, she will attend the University of Kentucky to earn a PharmD and become a Doctor of Pharmacy. She would like to thank the Chalk Family for not only providing her with financial support in her undergraduate career but also encouraging words every step of the way!

2021 – May

Ramey just finished her junior year at Northern Kentucky University as a Chemistry major. She has only one more year until she earns her BS in Chemistry. This summer she will begin applying to pharmacy schools. She plans on applying to the University of Kentucky and the University of Cincinnati. Interviews for these schools will begin late summer/early fall. She will also spend her summer participating in Organic Chemistry research as well as working at Fort Thomas Drug Center. She is looking forward to see people’s smiles again as the world slowly turns back to normal. To all the recent high school graduates, she wants to remind you to always trust your gut. Follow your heart as you enter this next season of life and you will always end up exactly where you are meant to be!

2020 – May

Ramey just finished her second year at Northern Kentucky University as a Chemistry major. She had plans to participate in Organic Chemistry research in Lannion, France this summer which were unfortunately canceled. She is happy, though, to be home for her sister’s graduation and will hopefully go to France next summer! Ramey plans on attending pharmacy school after graduating with a BS in Chemistry. She is so excited to see where the future takes her and continues to live with the “live free” mantra always on her mind.
