Michelle Chalk FUNd

by The Karen Wellington Foundation for LIVING with Breast Cancer

In January 2014 Michelle’s mom, Patty, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. It was a long journey, a journey we never had to walk alone thanks to our medical team, family, friends, church, schools and community.

In 2016, Michelle’s family were gifted a trip from The Karen Wellington Foundation (KWF) to Steamboat Springs, CO. In typical Michelle fashion, she truly did Live Free on this trip, soaking in every experience and opportunity. Michelle was deeply touched by this gift to her family.

In the Spring of 2017 Michelle served on the Highlands Middle School Student Council. Her experience inspired her to pay-it-forward and raise money for The Karen Wellington Foundation so that other breast cancer patients and their families can have FUN experiences. Michelle and her classmates raised $127.98.

After Michelle’s death, the Chalk Family has remembered Michelle with periodic donations of $127.98 to The Karen Wellington Foundation.

In March of 2022, in Michelle’s memory the Chalk family is collaborating with The Karen Wellington Foundation by creating The Michelle Chalk FUNd.

What does this mean?

Michelle will have her very own fund within The Karen Wellington Foundation, and any donations will be used with Michelle in mind.

Who does it help?

Donations are used to put FUN back on the calendar for a gal and her family who have previously endured months of Breast Cancer treatment. Michelle’s family will present the recipients with the gift from Michelle’s FUNd!

How can you help?
