Where is she now ?
2025 – May
Juli graduated with highest honors and a B.A. in Journalism, a B.A. in International Affairs, a B.A. in Comparative Literature, a minor in African Languages & Literature, and certificates in Sports Media, African Studies and Global Studies.

During her time at the University of Georgia, she worked in a lot of amazing places, seen the world and made priceless friendships along the way.
She is excited to finally share that knowledge and experience and is moving to San Antonio for a business reporting internship with the San Antonio Express-News through the Dow Jones News Fund, Inc.
I can’t wait to see what this next chapter brings!
Thank you to all of my family and friends for your endless support.
I love you so much and nothing in my life is possible without you.

2022 – May
This first year at the University of Georgia has met– and exceeded– all expectations. Julianna met incredible people, and had numerous opportunities to learn about the world around her. She is pursuing three majors through the joint study of international affairs, journalism, and comparative literature, she hopes to learn as much as she can about the world and the broad array of people that live in it. She is also pursuing minors in Arabic and African literature.
Julianna had the opportunity to complete an internship with a local newspaper, called The Oglethorpe Echo. It was a pivotal experience as a future journalist. She also worked 20 hours per week as a video producer with University Housing at UGA, creating YouTube videos to help their audience learn more about what on-campus housing has to offer. She started a position with Daktronics and SEC Network, working to broadcast UGA athletic events on ESPN, starting as technical director, a similar role to the one she had with Mr. Poff’s program at Highlands. She is loving every minute of it!

Juli participated in three campus organizations this year that enabled her to form a trusted community there. Roosevelt @ UGA is a public policy think tank, and she was recently chosen to be on the executive board next year. Through Roosevelt, she helped to draft a policy proposal that was accepted to UGA’s Arch Policy Journal. Her research involved the Clarke County School District’s gifted and talented identification process, and how to improve upon it. Juli was also a writer and layout editor for the Georgia Political Review magazine, which she enjoyed quite a bit. She had a great experience in the UGA Student Government Association as well. She met amazing people during her time there.

Juli will spend her Summer on a study abroad trip. Three weeks will be spent at the University of Oxford in Oxford, England, studying international conflict with one of the world’s leading experts in war and security. After that, a close-knit group of friends will meet up with her and they will be traveling around Europe, hitting Paris, Barcelona, Munich, Prague, Berlin, and Amsterdam. She will then be joined by her family in Amsterdam to finish her European tour.
One of things Juli is most looking forward to for next school year is her involvement in an organization on campus called the Public Service and Outreach Student Scholars program. This program selects a cohort of students to serve as interns for volunteer organizations within the Athens community. She is so proud to continue in Michelle’s legacy of service by participating in this program.
