Where is she now?
2026 – June
Hannah has officially finished her freshman year at NKU! Her last two semesters were mostly the prerequisites for nursing school and some gen-eds to fill in gaps. However, next semester she will finally get to start proper nursing courses and begin clinicals, which is super exciting for her.
Last summer, Hannah left her old job at the Barrington, and since then, she has started working as a pharmacy technician at Kroger. The residents were her favorite part of her old job, and she does miss the connection she had with many of them; however, she has started making new connections with patients in the pharmacy. Later this summer, she plans to take her certification exam as a pharmacy tech!
Over the last few weeks of May, Hannah took the cadaver lab at NKU. During this course, she worked from 8:00 to 12:00 in the morning, dissecting the school’s new cadavers, cleaning up everything from skin to intestines. As creepy as it sounds, it was definitely the coolest experience she has ever had the chance to take part in, and it definitely gave her a whole different perspective on anatomy, science, and just life in general. She learned so much from this class, and she is eternally grateful for the donors.
One piece of advice Hannah would give to incoming freshmen is to find a good balance between school, courses, and especially themselves. When people give advice to college freshmen, it’s usually to not skip out on any opportunity to meet new people; however, she believes it’s also important to prioritize yourself, especially if you’re living on campus. It can be hard not to get too caught up in the exhilaration of meeting new people and going out until you realize you’re burnt out. She reminds students to not forget to be themselves and leave time for themselves too!
