Harold Mitchell Miller, born November 20, 1913, in Grant County, died October 31, 1990. Harold attended elementary and high school in Dry Ridge, Kentucky, received his B.A. from Western Kentucky State College, and received his M.A. from the University of Kentucky.
Harold was a teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent during his thirty-nine years as an educator. He taught and coached in Grant County; he was also a classroom teacher as well as an elementary and secondary principal in Covington. Harold worked in the Ft. Thomas school system for nineteen years, first serving as principal of Highlands High School and later served as Superintendent of Ft. Thomas Schools until his retirement in 1975.
Harold Miller was a well-known and respected educator, not only in Northern Kentucky but also throughout the state. He was president of the Kentucky Association of Secondary School Principals. He served on the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools for many years and was considered an authority of procedures of the association. Harold was president of the Retired Teachers of Campbell County Northern Kentucky and served on the Kentucky State retirement board from 1965 to 1975. Harold served for many years as the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Kentucky State Retirement Board.
Harold Miller was respected and admired by his colleagues and the students of the school districts where he was such a vital part. He put in numerous, tireless hours serving in many capacities, not only in education but also in city and church activities.
